Megan Hughes , married Bäckstedt, (born January 5, 1977 ) is a former British cyclist from Wales.

Athletic career

In 1995 Megan Hughes won the bronze medal in the sprint at the Junior World Championships . In 1998 she became British road racing champion . In the same year she started for Wales at the Commonwealth Games in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur . In the points race , she finished fifth; she did not finish in the road race. In 2000 she ended her active cycling career.

family

Hughes has been married to the former Swedish cyclist Magnus Bäckstedt since 2000 . The couple have two daughters - Elynor and Zoe - who are also successful cyclists.
