Johannes Hofstetter-Oertli

Johannes Hofstetter-Oertli (born April 17, 1670 in Teufen ; † June 28, 1760 in Bühler ; entitled to live in Teufen) was a Swiss mayor and member of the Small Council from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Johannes Hofstetter-Oertli was a son of Jakob and Anna Sonderegger. In 1694 he married Anna Oertli, daughter of the Christian Oertli, landlord . Johannes Hofstetter-Oertli worked as a councilor in Teufen. From 1723 to 1732 and from 1740 to 1747 he held the office of mayor of Bühler. He won the election as state official as a supporter of the "hard" during the land trade . From 1732 to 1733 and from 1747 to 1756 he served as the Ausserrhoder regional ensign. From 1733 to 1735 he was governor. From 1735 to 1738 he held the office of regional master craftsman. In 1723 Johannes Hofstetter-Oertli played a key role in the separation of the Bühler von Teufen parish . In 1723 he took over half of the church building costs in Bühler and donated the property.
