Johannes Hyalinus

Johannes Hyalinus (actually Johannes Glaser ; † after 1562 ) was a Protestant preacher in Silesia and Polish Prussia .

Life

Johannes Glaser came from Liegnitz in Silesia. He studied theology in Wittenberg and was ordained there in 1546. Then he was a deacon in the Silesian Löwenberg . In 1551 an interpretation of the text appeared from the temptations of the Lord Christ with a preface by Philipp Melanchthon .

In 1554 Glaser was appointed as the first official evangelical preacher by the city council of Thorn in Polish Prussia. He was in office at the Johanniskirche until 1557.

Afterwards Hyalinus was pastor in the Silesian Hirschberg and lived in Liegnitz without office. In September 1562 he was called to the church of St. Martin in Jauer , but was dismissed in December for offensive sermons.

His further fate is unknown.
