Johannes Jansen (writer)

Johannes Jansen (born January 6, 1966 in East Berlin ) is a German writer .

Life

Johannes Jansen grew up in Freiberg , Leipzig and East Berlin . He completed an apprenticeship as an engraver and began after the military service in the NVA , a study of commercial art , he does not graduated. He worked temporarily in the care of the elderly and as a curative teacher . In the 1980s he belonged to the GDR avant-garde based in the East Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg ; his texts appeared in samizdat magazines (including in Ariadnefabrik , Bizarre Cities , Liane) and in artist books , some of which were designed by the author himself . Jansen now lives as a freelance writer in Berlin.

Johannes Jansen is the author of prose texts and poems .

Johannes Jansen has been a member of the German PEN Center since 1995 . Among other things, he received the Anna Seghers Prize in 1990 , the Alfred Döblin Scholarship in 1992 , the Prize of the State of Carinthia at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in Klagenfurt in 1996 and an honorary gift from the German Schiller Foundation in 1997 .
