Johannes Moser (politician)

Johannes Moser (born February 26, 1839 in Grossandelfingen , † September 13, 1900 in Kleinandelfingen ) was a Swiss politician .

Born as the son of a miller, he attended the canton school in Zurich from 1854 to 1855 , but broke off the subsequent apprenticeship as a miller for health reasons and completed an agricultural internship at Teufen Castle in Freienstein-Teufen . In 1863 he was elected to the local council and between 1866 and 1870 was mayor of Kleinandelfingen. In the years 1865/66 he was president of the district court and from 1870 to 1899 district governor of Andelfingen. Between 1864 and 1900, Moser held positions in the school authorities of the community and the district. He was also a Democratic National Councilor between 1875 and 1899 and was a member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party . As an early supporter of the democratic movement, Moser took a moderate line. For a long time he was a member of the office of the National Council and several federal commissions for expropriations .
