Life

In 1629 he was appointed to the board of directors (count) of the company. In 1634 he was elected secretary of the broadcasting court , where he later also held the position of a syndic at the local lay judge's court. Based on Peter von Beeck's Chronicle Aquisgranum , Nopp published a history of the city of Aachen in 1632 under the title: Aacher Chronick, that is a short, historical description of all antiques and stories worth remembering, as well as the privileges and statutes added. Auctore Joanne Noppio SS. LL. Doctore et Advocato etc. The work was printed in Cologne by Hartger Woringen. Nopp's chronicle goes far beyond that of Beecks through a strong expansion and the division into three books. The first book gives a presentation of Aachen's topography and constitutional history, the second is dedicated to the historical events from 814 to 1630 and the third documents numerous documents . The outstanding importance of the Aacher Chronick was also favored by the use of the German language.
