Johannes Peinsteiner

Johannes Peinsteiner (born October 7, 1961 in Bad Ischl ) is an Upper Austrian politician ( ÖVP ), photographer and publisher. Peinsteiner was a member of the Federal Council from 2008 to 2009 and a member of the Upper Austrian Landtag from 2009 to 2015 .

education and profession

Peinsteiner attended elementary school in Rußbach am Pass Gschütt between 1967 and 1971 and then from 1971 to 1972 the elementary school in Sankt Wolfgang im Salzkammergut . He then graduated from Strobl secondary school from 1972 to 1976 and learned the profession of television and video electronics engineer. Peinsteiner worked in this profession between 1976 and 1980 and then worked as a sacristan and tourist guide in the pilgrimage church of St. Wolfgang from 1981 to 1996. In 1982 he founded a retail company and in 1987 the St. Wolfgang Art Publishing House. In addition, Peinsteiner founded Rollermax-Elektrofahrzeuge in 2002 and a retail business in St. Wolfgang in 2004. In 2005 he handed the company over to his wife.

politics

Peinsteiner was a founding member of the Young People's Party St. Wolfgang in 1981 and was elected to the local council in 1991 . In 1995 he took over the office of deputy mayor, in 1996 he was elected mayor. Peinsteiner is active in the Austrian Association of Municipalities and was elected Gmunden's ÖVP district party chairman in 2007. He represented the ÖVP between July 3, 2008 and October 22, 2009 in the Federal Council and was sworn in as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament on October 23, 2009.

On May 20, 2015, Peinsteiner announced his resignation as Mayor of St. Wolfgang.

Private

Peinsteiner is married and has two sons (* 1986 and 1990 respectively). He lives in St. Wolfgang.
