Johannes Rosa
Johannes Rosa also: Rose (born January 12, 1532 in Hellingen ; † November 21, 1571 in Jena ) was a German historian, moral philosopher and Lutheran theologian.
Life
Johann was the son of the first Protestant pastor, Marcus Roß. He matriculated on January 5, 1550 at the University of Wittenberg , where he became a student of Philipp Melanchthon . He continued his education in the summer semester of 1553 at the University of Jena. In Wittenberg he acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophical sciences on March 5, 1555. In 1556 he went back to Jena, where he gave private lectures. In 1558 Rosa became professor of history and ethics, and was also appointed professor of logic and an extraordinary theological professorship. He also took part in the organizational tasks of the Jena University and was rector of the Alma Mater in the summer semesters 1561, 1565 and in the winter semester 1571 .
