Johannes Spengler
Johannes Spengler (born July 27, 1629 in St. Gallen ; † August 18, 1700 ibid) was a mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).
Life
Johannes Spengler was the son of Hans Jacob Spengler, office substitute and his wife Elisabeth Schlumpf; his stepfather was David Cunz and he was a great-grandson of Jacob Spengler .
He was a member of the weavers' guild. From 1679 to 1687 he was councilor and then from 1687 to 1700 alternating with Joachim Kunkler , Heinrich Hiller (elected 1695) and Ulrich Weyermann (elected 1695) every three years mayor, former mayor and imperial bailiff . During this time he was also head of the Panner and the chairman of the school board and marriage court.
Johannes Spengler married Magdalena in 1657, daughter of Hans Konrad Fels, Elfer.
