Joachim Kunkler (born August 27, 1612 in St. Gallen ; † September 25, 1696 ibid) was Mayor of St. Gallen ( Switzerland ).

Life

Joachim Kunkler was the son of Laurenz Kunkler, a member of the Pfister guild and his wife Weibratha, daughter of Joachim Vonwiller, also from the Pfister guild.

He was the host of the “Zum Hecht” inn, which was first mentioned in 1624.

Due to his numerous municipal and public offices, he was very influential at the time, he was city ​​judge from 1654 to 1657 , guild master from 1657 to 1664, he was elected councilor in 1664 until he was elected alternately with Othmar Appenzeller , Johannes Spengler ( 1670 to 1695 1687) and Heinrich Hiller (elected 1687) was mayor , former mayor and imperial bailiff ; During this time he was also Panner captain from 1688 .
