Johannes Tröster (Canon)

Johannes Tröster "de Amberg" (* in Amberg ; † 1485 in Regensburg ) was a German canon and humanist .

Tröster studied in Vienna and Padua and belonged to the circle around Enea Silvio Piccolomini, the later Pope Pius II. Until 1452 he was the teacher of the crown candidate Ladislaus Postumus . Later trips are made in the vicinity of Francesco Piccolomini, who later became Pope Pius III. proven.

Tröster became a canon in Regensburg around 1465. His grave slab is in the cloister of Regensburg Cathedral .
