Johann Wurmser (born October 18, 1599 in Gießen ; † October 20, 1659 in Tübingen ) was a German lawyer and professor and rector at the University of Tübingen .

Life

Johann Wurmser was Professor of Law in Tübingen from 1646 to 1659, after he had applied for a professorship in Tübingen since 1641. He was the first law teacher at the university (Antecessor), previously he was an attorney at the court. In his first marriage he was Ulrich Andreae's son-in-law . He was also the guardian of Eva Maria Simon, the daughter of Professor Balthasar Simon . In 1652/53 he was rector of the University of Tübingen. His portrait hangs in the professors' gallery in Tübingen .
