Johannes von Thadden

Johannes von Thadden (born July 30, 1956 in Leutkirch im Allgäu ) is a manager in the space industry and was a German party functionary. From 2004 to 2007 he was federal executive director of the CDU .

Life

Thadden studied history, economics and political science at the University of the Saarland, and after a Fulbright scholarship at the University of Washington in 1981/82 in the US he was at the University of Saarland worked as a research assistant in the Department of Political Science and received his doctorate there 1,984th

job

Since 1984 von Thadden has worked at the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( DIHK ), among other things as personal advisor to the managing director, Dr. Franz Schoser and as head of the office of the President of the DIHK, Hans Peter Stihl . Most recently, he headed the Department of Foreign Chambers of Commerce, which has offices in 80 countries. Since 2003 he has been Deputy Secretary General of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and from January 2004 Federal Managing Director of the CDU.

On March 1, 2007, Johannes von Thadden moved to Astrium , the aerospace subsidiary of EADS, today's Airbus Group , and later moved to the Astrium Board of Directors. Since the merger with Airbus Defense and Space, he has acted as Senior Vice President and member of the management of Airbus DS GmbH.

Since 2011 Johannes von Thadden has been co-chair of the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation Warsaw , which was founded in 1991 by the German and Polish governments with a foundation capital of 500 million euros to promote a variety of cooperation projects between Poles and Germans.

Personal

Johannes von Thadden is the son of Franz-Lorenz von Thadden and Anna-Polixena Countess von Mensdorff-Pouilly and a grandson of Reinold von Thadden . From his marriage to his late wife Gudrun von Thadden, geb. Kornbrust three children and two grandchildren. He has been married to Małgorzata Ławrowska since 2015, and was press spokesperson for Sejm Marshal Radosław Sikorski until June 2015 .
