Johannes zum Sande (born January 4, 1802 , Aschendorf ; † April 6, 1878 , Lingen ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Life

Johannes zum Sande (with full baptismal name Johannes Lambertus or Johann Lambert) was born on January 4, 1802 in Aschendorf. He attended the Latin school in Lingen from 1812 to 1817 and then studied law at the academic high school there until 1820 . From 1820 he continued his studies in Göttingen. He completed his studies with a doctorate to become a Dr. jur. from. He then worked as a lawyer in Aschendorf from 1824 and as a lawyer and notary in Lingen from 1833. From 1840 until his death, the lawyer acted as a senator in Lingen, where he worked as a chamberlain. Furthermore, the lawyer administered the coffers of various institutions such as the city financial institution or the fire insurance fund. In addition, from 1843 onwards, Zum Sande was a board member of the Lingener Bürgererschützenverein. From May 18, 1848 to May 30, 1849 he was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly for the 22nd constituency of the Kingdom of Hanover in Lingen. In the Frankfurt National Assembly he was a member of the left-wing liberal Pariser Hof parliamentary group , which also included the second Emsland MP, Matthias Deymann from Meppen . Johannes zum Sande was a supporter of the Greater German solution and federalism, which is why he voted against the Prussian hereditary empire. On May 27, 1863, King George V awarded him the Royal Hanover Guelph Order, fourth class. He was heavily involved financially in the flourishing ironworks in Lingen, which burned down in 1874 and was rebuilt largely on credit. After completion, there was a bank crash and an economic slump in 1877, which the hut did not survive.

Johannes zum Sande was a Roman Catholic denomination. With his wife Auguste Catherine Albertina Ruland (1808-1850) from Rheine, he had four sons Georg (* 1832, lawyer), Maximilian (1837-1909, doctor), Alfred (* 1840) and Gustav (* 1843, lawyer). He died on April 6, 1878 at the age of 76 in Lingen.
