John Clements Wickham

John Clements Wickham (born December 21, 1798 in Leith, Scotland, † January 6, 1864 ) was a British naval officer.

Wickham was a lieutenant aboard the HMS Beagle during its famous second voyage from 1831 to 1836, in which Charles Darwin also took part. In 1837 he became captain of the HMS Beagle. For the next four years he explored the northwest coast of Australia.
