John Clive

John Clive (born January 6, 1933 in London , † October 14, 2012 ) was a British actor and author .

Life

Clive began his acting career in the mid-1960s with appearances on various television series. He was mainly seen in various small supporting roles.

For the 1968 Beatles film Yellow Submarine he lent his voice in the original to the character of John Lennon . He later starred in four films in the carry-on… film series . In 1973/1974 he took on the leading role in the Roberts Robots series . Clive took his last film role in 1998.

Since 1977 Clive was also active as a book author. Together with JD Gilman he wrote KG200 that year , a historical novel about the Kampfgeschwader 200, a unit of the Luftwaffe in World War II. The book became a bestseller. More novels followed.

As a director, he made his only film in 1989, The Yellow Wallpaper .

Clive was married twice and had two children from his first marriage.
