John Denniston Patton

John Denniston Patton (born November 28, 1829 in Indiana , Indiana County , Pennsylvania , †  February 22, 1904 there ) was an American politician . Between 1883 and 1885 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

John Patton attended public schools in his home country and then worked as a tanner for several years. He then started trading in his hometown of Indiana. Politically, he became a member of the Democratic Party . In the congressional election of 1882 he was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the 25th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded James Mosgrove on March 4, 1883 .

Since Patton renounced another candidacy in 1884, he was only able to complete one term in Congress until March 3, 1885 . After serving in the US House of Representatives, he retired. John Patton died on February 22, 1904 in his native Indiana, where he was also buried.
