John Robin Dent (born February 15, 1938 ) is a retired British biathlete and cross-country skier .

John Dent first took part in Biathlon World Championships in 1962 . In Hämeenlinna he finished 24th. The following year he was 22nd in the individual in Seefeld in Tirol . The highlight of his career was his participation in the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck , where he competed in biathlon and cross-country skiing. In the biathlon singles, Dent was the best British participant in 29th place, with John Moore , David Rees and Roderick Tuck he was 14th in the 4 × 10-kilometer cross-country relay.
