John Eatton Le Conte

John Eatton Le Conte , Jr. (born February 22, 1784 near Shrewsbury, New Jersey , † November 21, 1860 in Philadelphia ; also John Eatton LeConte or John Eaton Leconte ) was an American naturalist . Its botanical author abbreviation is " Leconte "; earlier the abbreviation “ Le Conte ” was also in use.

His son was the entomologist John Lawrence Le Conte (1825-1883).
