Career
John Gillespie was born in Denny , Falkirk . Until 1890 he played in his home region for FC Falkirk . From there he came to FC Queen's Park . He played for the Glasgow club until 1900. In 1890 and 1893 he won the Scottish Cup with Queen's Park . In 1896 he played once for the Scottish national team against Wales . In the 4-0 win in Dundee , Gillespie led the Scots as team captain .
