John William Glover (born October 28, 1876 in West Bromwich , † April 20, 1955 in Dudley ; also Jack Glover ) was an English football player . As a right defender , he won the English championship with Liverpool FC in 1901.
Life
Born and raised in West Bromwich , Glover began his career in 1897 with the Blackburn Rovers . From 1900 he played for Liverpool, with whom he won the English championship in the 1900/01 season. In 1904 Glover moved to Birmingham City , where he played until 1908. This was followed by two years at the lower class club Brierley Hill Alliance and in 1910 his career ended.
In total, Glover had played 175 first division games for Liverpool and Birmingham.
After the end of his sporting career, Glover owned a pub in Dudley. He also represented Shropshire in bowls . He died in 1955 at the age of 78.
