John Heijning

John Heijning (born December 12, 1884 in The Hague , † May 19, 1947 ) was a Dutch football player . Between 1907 and 1912 he played eight international matches for the Dutch national football team .

career

The defender had very successful times with his club HVV Den Haag at the side of teammates like Jan van Breda Kolff , Guus Lutjens , Constant Feith and Karel Heijting . He won in 1905, 1907 and 1910 championship and stood with HVV 1904 and 1910 in the finals of the KNVB Cup .

In the Elftal he made his debut on April 1, 1907 in a 1: 8 defeat against the teacher England. After his third international match in 1907 (1: 2 defeat against Belgium), he went through a three-year international break before he was allowed to start again for Oranje on March 13, 1910 . He played his seventh international match on March 24, 1912 in Zwolle against Germany. When he scored 5: 5 he defended together with his club colleague Constant Feith and had to deal with the Karlsruhe offensive art of the DFB attackers Karl Wegele , Fritz Förderer , Gottfried Fuchs , Julius Hirsch and Emil Oberle . With his eighth international game on April 28, 1912 with a 4-3 win against Belgium, he said goodbye to the national team. Mannes Francken stood out as a three-time goalscorer.
