John Hindman

John Hindman (born around 1965) is an American director , screenwriter and television producer .

life and career

John Hindman, born in the mid-1960s, grew up as the son of a jazz pianist in the San Francisco Bay Area . Starting out as a stand-up comedian , Hindman has worked in various roles in the film business since the mid-2000s. He started out as a television producer for the TV series 9 on the Town in 2004 , where he produced an episode. In 2005 and 2007 further engagements followed as a producer for the television series Reality Remix and The Search for the Next Elvira .

In 2009, Hindman directed and screenplayed The Divine Mister Faber , a romantic comedy starring Jeff Daniels and Lauren Graham, his first own feature film. The film was financially realized in 2008 as an independent film on a small budget by producers Jana Edelbaum and Kevin J. Messick. In 2009 it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival , where John Hindman was honored with a nomination for the Grand Jury Prize in the Dramatic category. In addition, the film was nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Casting - Low Budget Feature in the Drama / Comedy category of the Casting Society of America in 2010 .

In 2013, Hindman worked for filmmaker Francesca Gregorini as a script consultant for their dramatic thriller The Truth About Emanuel with the cast of Kaya Scodelario , Jessica Biel and Alfred Molina .
