Lauren Graham
Lauren Helen Graham (born March 16, 1967 in Honolulu , Hawaii ) is an American actress and writer .
life and career
Graham grew up in Fairfax , Virginia and has Irish ancestry. After her parents divorced when she was five years old, she was raised by her father. She has three younger half-siblings from the later marriages of her parents.
Graham discovered her love for acting during elementary school. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in English from Barnard College in 1988, she moved to Texas , where she studied acting at Southern Methodist University , where she graduated with a master's degree. Today she lives in Los Angeles , California . She is best known for her role as Lorelai Gilmore on the Gilmore Girls series.
In 2009, Graham made her Broadway debut in the musical Guys and Dolls with the role of Miss Adelaide .
She made her debut as a writer on April 30, 2013 with Someday, Someday, Maybe: A Novel . The novel fictionalizes her experiences as a young actress in New York City in the early 1990s . In November 2016, her second book, Talking as Fast as I Can! which is about her role in Gilmore Girls and her experiences around the set of the series. In 2016, a sequel to Gilmore Girls , consisting of four 90-minute episodes, was produced on behalf of Netflix and Graham can be seen again alongside most of the original cast.
Graham has appeared on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson several times .

Graham has been dating her colleague Peter Krause , who plays her brother in the series Parenthood , since 2010 .
