John King (actor)

John "Dusty" King , actually Miller McLeod Everson , (born July 11, 1909 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † November 11, 1987 in San Diego , California ) was an American singer and actor.

Life

Miller McLeod Everson traveled to the United States after completing his studies at the University of Cincinnati and kept himself afloat through various temporary jobs, including a. as a radio host. After returning to his hometown of Cincinnati, he began a career as a singer in addition to his radio work .

He was discovered by the entertainer and band leader Ben Bernie . This gave him the stage name John King and brought him to Hollywood . There he was signed by Universal Studios and began his acting career with a leading role in the feature film series Ace Drummond . From then on, John Dusty King was seen in numerous westerns and starred in over 50 films. Towards the end of his career, when there were no more film offers, King switched back to radio and finally acquired his own broadcast license.
