Mr. Moto and his decoy (Original title: Mr. Moto Takes a Vacation ) is an American crime film from 1939 by Norman Foster in the eight-part series about by Peter Lorre shown Japanese detective Mr. Kentaro Moto . The films are all based on John Phillips Marquand's Mr. Moto stories .
Mr. Moto and his decoy was filmed before Mr. Moto and the mysterious island , but was not released until afterwards, which is why the film is considered the last in the series. The Mr. Moto film series was discontinued; a Japanese film hero in an American production was difficult to imagine in the war years.
action
Mr. Moto escorts the recently found Queen of Sheba's crown to its destination, a museum in San Francisco, as he is convinced that the dangerous, presumed dead criminal Metaxa is still alive and will hardly miss this opportunity. However, other shady characters are also interested in the valuable artifact. The question now arises: Who is Metaxa?
