John King junior
John B. King Jr. (born January 5, 1975 in New York City ) is an American politician and served in the Obama cabinet from January 1, 2016 to January 20, 2017 as Secretary of Education of the United States ( United States Secretary of Education ).
Life
King was born in Brooklyn . His parents, Adalinda King and John B. King Sr., worked in the school service, with the father becoming the first African-American school principal in the borough . After a bachelor's degree in administration from Harvard University and a master's degree in school education from Columbia University , he received his doctorate in law and education from Yale University and Columbia University, respectively.
