John H. Larsen senior (born August 27, 1913 in Oslo ; † August 5, 1989 there ) was a Norwegian sports shooter .
successes
John Larsen took part in the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki and the 1956 Games in Melbourne . In the running deer discipline , he achieved the highest number of points with 413 points and was thus Olympic champion ahead of Olof Sköldberg and Tauno Mäki . Four years later, he finished eighth in this competition with 390 points.
Larsen was world champion seven times in Buenos Aires in 1949 and in Oslo in 1952 . In 1949 he won the singles in the single shot as well as in the single and double shot, he was also successful with the team in the single and double shot. In Oslo, titles followed in the singles of the single shot and the double shot as well as in the respective team competitions. In 1954, in Caracas, he also secured silver with the team in a single shot and bronze in the team competition in a double shot.
His son was also an Olympic marksman.
