John Menger

John Gustav Ernst Menger (born April 6, 1876 in Vossberg , Saatzig district , † May 5, 1941 in Berlin ) was a German administrative lawyer and parliamentarian.

Life

John Menger was the son of an administrative lawyer and manor owner. He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1897 he was reciprocated in the Corps Saxo-Borussia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he entered the Prussian administrative service. After various career positions as a government councilor, he was initially appointed provisional district administrator in the Sulingen district in 1916 . His definitive appointment as district administrator there took place in 1918. From August 1918 to 1920 Menger sat in the provincial parliament of the province of Hanover . In 1926 he was transferred to the Olsztyn district as district administrator . On his departure, the Sulingen district council set up a Ms. District Administrator Menger Foundation endowed with 10,000 Reichsmarks . During his term of office in Allenstein, the Tannenberg Monument was inaugurated . In 1933, he was relieved of his office as district administrator by the National Socialists, and in 1934 he was transferred to the regional council of the administrative district of Kassel . On August 1, 1937, he moved from Kassel to Berlin. He died shortly after his 65th birthday.
