John Metcalf (athlete)
John Metcalf (born February 25, 1934 in Norwich ) is a former British hurdler .
In 1958 he was starting for England at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff fourth over 440 yard hurdles, and in 1960 he reached the semifinals over 400 m hurdles at the Olympic Games in Rome .
In 1959 he became English champion over the 220 yard hurdles. He set his personal best over 440 yard hurdles of 52.2 s (corresponds to 51.9 s over 400 m hurdles) on August 6, 1960 in Glasgow .
