John P. Kotter

John Paul Kotter (born February 25, 1947 in San Diego , California ) is Professor of Leadership Management at Harvard Business School . He is particularly known for his work in change management . He is also the founder and chairman of Kotter International, a management consultancy based in Seattle and Boston.

Kotter studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and computer science in 1968 . In 1970 the Master of Science followed , and in 1972 Kotter received his PhD.

He led u. a. the eight steps of organizational change and its form of the fiery platform.

Private life

Kotter lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Ashland, New Hampshire with his wife Nancy Dearman and two children.
