John Park

John Park (born September 14, 1973 ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Labor Party .

Life

Park attended Blacklaw Primary School and Woodmill High School . At the age of 15 he began an apprenticeship as an electrician at the shipyard in Rosyth ( Rosyth Dockyard ). He attended Fife College and later Lauder College . Between 1998 and 2001, Park served as union spokesman for Rosyth Dockyards between 2004 and 2007 as deputy spokesman for the Scottish Union Congress.

Political career

For the first time, Park ran in the Scottish General Election in 2007 on the regional list of the Mid Scotland and Fife region in national elections and won a seat in the Scottish Parliament . In the 2011 general election , Park was elected for a further term for the electoral region of Mid Scotland and Fife. Park was a member of the Labor Party's shadow cabinet for rotating ministerial posts and Parliamentary Secretary of the Labor Group in the Scottish Parliament. However, in December 2012, John Park resigned to focus on his union activities. Jayne Baxter moved up as the next list candidate and was sworn into the Scottish Parliament on December 11th .
