John Popper
John Popper (born March 29, 1967 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American blues musician .
Popper is known as a singer, but above all as a blues harp player for the New York group Blues Traveler . He is considered one of the world's best harmonica players. He is listed by the Hohner company as a “Featured Artist”, an award that is only given to the best and most successful harmonica players.
Further activities:
- 1987 founded a band called Trucking Company together with Eric Schenkman and the drummer Brendan Hill . Popper left this band soon after joining Blues Traveler.
- 1998 Music for the film Blues Brothers 2000 with Paul Shaffer .
- often guest musicians from other bands. (e.g. Metallica )
