John Ronald Hamilton

John Ronald Hamilton (* 1871 in Forest Hill, Southland , † 1940 ) was a New Zealand politician of the Reform Party .

Career

Hamilton was of Scottish descent.

Hamilton studied in his hometown. Then he settled in Winton . He was the older brother of Adam Hamilton .

Hamilton ran unsuccessfully in the 1911 and 1914 general election before being elected representative of the Awarua constituency in 1919 . He was voted down in the 1922 , but defeated the liberal Philip De La Perrelle in the constituency of Awarua in the 1925 election . He was then defeated by him in the 1928 election.

In 1935, Hamilton was awarded the King George V Silver Jubilee Medal .
