Guy Scholefield

Guy Hardy Scholefield (born June 17, 1877 in Dunedin , Otago  , † July 19, 1963 in Wellington ) was a New Zealand journalist , historian , archivist , librarian and editor . He was best known for editing the 1940 edition of the Dictionary of New Zealand Biography .

Scholefield graduated from Tokomairiro High School . He became the second chief parliamentary librarian after Charles Wilson . In 1908 he published Who's Who in New Zealand with Emil Schwabe .

During the celebrations of the official birthday of King George V. ( 1919 Birthday Honors ) was Scholefield as an officer of the Order of the British Empire awarded. In 1948, during the Royal New Year celebrations, Scholefield was appointed Commander of the British Order of St Michael and St George for his duties as Parliamentary Librarian and National Archives.
