John Sack (writer, 1938)

John Richard Sack (born October 29, 1938 in Springfield , Ohio ) is an American novelist.

As a young man, John Sack spent two years in the Trappist monastery "Our Lady of Gethsemane" in Kentucky , where Thomas Merton was his mentor.

After studying English literature at Yale University , which he awarded the degree of Bachelor of Arts graduating, he earned the title of Master of Arts of the University of Washington for the subject of creative writing and worked for years in the computer industry and as a Technical Writer for computer manuals and for astrophysical and ecological publications. After a few non-fiction books and a book for young people, his first novel for adult readers was published in the USA in 2005, through which he became internationally known: "The Franciscan Conspiracy", in 2006 in German under the title "Imzeichen der Seraphim". According to the website of his American publisher, Sack is working on a sequel to the novel.

John Sack has a son and a daughter. He lives in Ashland, Oregon with his wife .
