John Steakley
John William Steakley, Jr. (born July 26, 1951 in Cleburne , Texas , † November 27, 2010 in McKinney , Texas) was an American author .
Life
Steakley spent most of his life in Texas, interrupted by brief stints in South America and Hollywood in his youth. He earned a bachelor's degree in English from Southern Methodist University .
About his work
Steakley's first publication was the short story The Bluenose Limit in the March 1981 issue of Amazing Science Fiction . The film Vampire by John Carpenter is loosely based on Steakleys novel Vampire $ .
The second part of the novel Armor remained unfinished.
