John T. Harvey

John T. Harvey (born January 20, 1961 in London ) is a professor at Texas Christian University . Since 2005 he has been chairman of the university's economics department.

Life

Harvey grew up in Tennessee, where he attended Knoxville Catholic High School in Knoxville . In 1983 he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in economics and political science . In 1986 he received his master’s degree from the same university, and in 1987 he received his doctorate there . Today he lives in Fort Worth with his wife and two children .

Works

Harvey's works are evidence of its macroeconomic orientation, with a focus on exchange rates , foreign trade and direct investment . In his analyzes he mostly follows the theories of post-Keynesianism based on John Maynard Keynes , in which individual and institutional expectations as well as fundamental uncertainty are of outstanding importance. He has authored several articles in the Encyclopedia of Political Economy . He is a member of the Association for Evolutionary Economics and the International Confederation of Associations for Pluralism in Economics .
