John Togo

John Togo (* in the 20th century ; † July 19, 2011 with Warri ) was a Nigerian rebel leader .

Life

Togo was named leader of the Niger Delta Liberation Force in 2010, which is why he quickly became one of the most wanted people in Nigeria for crimes such as kidnapping , rape , robbery and piracy , committed by him and his rebel group in the Niger Delta area .

On December 1, 2010, government troops killed between nine and 150 people while searching for Togo in the village of Ayakoromor . After he was not caught doing it, the Nigerian government said it was determined to catch him by the 2011 elections . Further attacks by government troops on rebel strongholds followed until Togo was finally killed in an air strike in July 2011.
