John Tui (born June 11, 1975 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand actor .

Career

He was first seen in an episode of the television series Mataku in 2005 . In the same year he played Commander Anubis "Doggie" Cruger in the well-known TV series Power Rangers SPD. This was followed by a cast in the 2006 film Sione's Wedding and an appearance in an episode of the series Outrageous Fortune . 2006 followed a return to the Power Rangers in Power Rangers Mystic Force as Daggeron . From 2009 to 2012 he was seen as Timbo in the TV series Go Girls . In 2010 he appeared in ten episodes of the Shortland Street soap as Colin Dollar Lewis . This was followed by six appearances in the series This Is Not My Life in the same year and a cast in the film Billy in 2011 . In 2012 he worked alongside singer Rihanna in the science fiction film Battleship . This was followed by engagements in the TV series Nothing Trivial and Power Rangers Samurai . In 2014, he played hurricane leader Bolg in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies , previously played by Conan Stevens ( The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey ) and Lawrence Makoare ( The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug ).

Tui has been married since January 28, 2002. The couple has three children.
