John Anderson White (born April 28, 1937 in Musselburgh , Scotland , † July 21, 1964 in Crews Hill , England ) was a Scottish football player who played a key role in the Tottenham Hotspur double in the 1960/61 season. His younger brother Tom White was also a soccer player.
Athletic career
John White first played for Alloa Athletic and FC Falkirk between 1955 and 1959 , before he was brought to Spurs from Tottenham in October 1959 by successful manager Bill Nicholson . There White experienced his most successful time and helped the club with 18 goals to win the league and cup in the 1960/61 season.
The highlight of his career was winning the 1963 European Cup Winners' Cup . White, who scored a goal in the 5-1 final win, helped Tottenham win their first international title.

John White died in 1964 at the age of only 27 after being struck by lightning in Crews Hill, England.
