John van Reenen
John van Reenen (born March 26, 1947 - August 21, 2018 ) was a South African discus thrower and shot putter .
On March 14, 1975 he set a world record in the discus throw with 68.48 m.
He was South African champion in discus throwing ten times (1973–1978, 1985–1987) and seven times in the shot put (1974–1978, 1985). In 1975 he was also the English champion in discus throwing. As a student at Washington State University , he was NCAA discus thrower three times in a row from 1968 to 1970 and the 1968 NCAA indoor shot put champion.
