Johnathan Edwards

Johnathan Blake Edwards (born August 16, 1967 in New Orleans ) is a retired American-Swiss basketball player .

career

Edwards played from 1985 to 1989 at Georgetown University and was used for the team in a total of 106 games. The 2.08 meter tall board player scored an average of 2.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.

After the end of his university days Edwards was a professional basketball player and was in the game year 1989/90 with the Pensacola Tornados in the US league CBA under contract. Over the next few years, stints in Argentina and Belgium followed , before he went to work for the first time in the Swiss National League A in the 1992/93 season . There he strengthened Friborg Olympic . In 1994/95 Edwards Laik joined Riga in Latvia , later he played for other clubs in Switzerland, namely Vevey (1995/96), Pully (1996 to 1998), Carouge BC (1998/99), Villars Basket (1999/2000) , the Lugano Snakes (2000 to 2002) and SAM Massagno (2004/05). In the meantime he was under contract with Asteras Limassol in Cyprus in the 2003/04 season .

In 2001 and 2002 Edwards became Swiss champions with Lugano. In the course of his career he took on Swiss citizenship and was appointed to the national team.
