Johnny Gioeli (born October 5, 1967 in Brooklyn , New York) is an American rock singer .

biography

Gioeli's musical career began in the early 1980s after forming the band Phaze with his older brother, Joey. They then renamed the band Brunette and tried their luck in Hollywood . However, some demo recordings did not bring the desired success and so they broke up the group again. Johnny Gioeli and his brother then founded the band Hardline together with Journey guitarist Neal Schon and released the album Double Eclipse in 1992 . A US tour with Mr. Big and the Electric Boys followed. The group was able to achieve a chart placement in the newcomer charts of Billboard magazine . After Paul Atkinson, Hardlines AOR manager, had left the record company MCA Records , there were disputes with his successor and the group broke up. Then Johnny and his brother retired into family life.

In 1998 Johnny Gioeli joined Axel Rudi Pell's band and sang a total of ten studio albums with the guitarist. With Crush 40 he also founded a project with Jun Senoue who created the music for several Sonic video games for the Sega group .

In 2002 Gioeli reactivated with his brother Hardline. Brunette's Bobby Rock (drums) and keyboardist Michael T. Ross ( Angel ) supported the brothers. Together they recorded the album II (2002). A live album was released in 2003 and the album Leaving the End Open in 2009 . The last work to date, "Life", was released in 2019.
