The Johnson River is a 28 km long tributary of the Cook Inlet in the Aleutian Range in southwest Alaska .
The river is fed by the Johnson Glacier on the northeast flank of Mount Iliamna at an altitude of about 300 m . The Johnson River flows in an east-southeast direction to the sea. Meltwater from the Double Glacier and the Lateral Glacier flows into the Johnson River from the right . The river finally flows into a small lagoon on the west coast of Cook Inlet.
