The Johnston Glacier is a glacier on the Lassiter Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows in a southeasterly direction along the northern flank of Mount Owen to Nantucket Inlet .
Participants of the Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (1947-1948) under the direction of the US polar explorer Finn Ronne discovered him. Ronne named him after Henry Freeborn Johnston (1888-1975) of the Department of Earth Magnetism of the Carnegie Institution for Science , who was involved in the preparation of the geophysical program and the preparation of the results of the expedition.
