The Johnston Spur is a mountain ridge on the Lassiter Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises in the center of the Guettard Range and extends eastward to the south flank of the Johnston Glacier .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Thomas M. Johnston, plant operator at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in the Antarctic winter of 1965.
