history

On August 20, 2006, ten alleged members of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) were killed by the JTF . In an email to Reuters , MEND announced a punitive action: "Our response to Sunday's killings will come at our time, but for certain it will not go unpunished." In July 2011, the government donated 11 cars and cash to the relatives of civilians killed by the JTF in Maiduguri .

Since the beginning of July 2011, the JTF is also supposed to take action against members of Boko Haram . According to Amnesty International , it killed 25 people. There were 45 injured.

On February 20, 2012, after several bomb attacks on a fish market in Maiduguri, fighting broke out between fighters from the Boko Haram and units of the JTF.
