Jon Thompson

Jon Thompson ( 1936 - 2016 ) was a British artist and curator . He was involved in the development of the so-called YBA . In 1988 he was involved in curating the Freeze exhibition .

Thompson was instrumental in changing the art schools in England. He opened the departments of Goldsmiths College in London and enabled students to move freely between the various specializations, such as painting , sculpture , photography, etc. Until 2006 he taught as a professor at Middlesex University .
