Jonas Laimonas Tapinas
Jonas Laimonas Tapinas (born June 6, 1944 in Palanga ) is a Lithuanian author , historian and journalist .
Life
His father is from Latvia .
In 1970 he graduated from the Vilniaus universitetas with a degree in journalism and from 1971 taught press history and ethics. In 1978 he received his doctorate in history in Leningrad on the subject of "Lietuvos TSR kino publicistikos istorija". From 1990 to 1992 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors and from 1992 to 1995 General Director of Lietuvos radijas ir televizija . From 1991 to 1992 he headed the Institute for Journalism at VU.
